What was once The Sheats Apartments, a case study house built by Frank Lloyd Wright protege John Lautner to explore new ways of naturally integrated living, is now The Treehouse, a big, yellow, run-down building with a reputation for raging parties. It’s gone by at least 3 names, been a set for multiple movies, featured in many books, housed everyone from professors to criminals, and so much more. TO EACH, THEIR OWN: The Sheats Apartments, The Treehouse, & Everything in Between is an anthological catalog of summaries, explanations, accounts, opinions, stories, memories, and more, all serving to truthfully reveal and contextualize the building’s past, present, and future.
